Award/Prize:
Wiley has kindly donated a cash prize of $750.

Judging Process:
Two RANZCR representatives determined by the Organising Committee evaluate a winner for the "Best Exhibit Award for Radiology College Members (excluding trainee members)".

 

I-MED Best Emergency Radiology Scientific Exhibit Prize

Criteria:
Eligible candidates must be a member of the RANZCR College.

Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR for membership status confirmation closer to the event.

Award/Prize:

I-MED has kindly donated a valuable prize for the most outstanding contribution to the ASM Scientific Meeting and has submitted an exhibit in Emergency Radiology. The prize consists of $2500.

Judging Process:

Two RANZCR representatives determined by the Clinical Radiology Research Committee evaluate a winner for the "Best Emergency Radiology Scientific Exhibit/ Oral Presentation Exhibit Prize” for Radiology College Members".

 

NZ Radiology Education Trust Proffered Paper Prize

Clinical Radiology Oral Presentation Prize 

The best Proffered Paper Prize for Radiology and Radiation Oncology, offering financial assistance to attend the RANZCR 69th Annual Scientific Meeting to a maximum level $3,000.

Criteria:

New Zealand resident RANZCR Fellows and Educational Affiliates are eligible to enter.

 

NZ Radiology Education Trust Poster Prize

Clinical Radiology Exhibit Prize 

This is the best Poster Prize for Radiology and Radiation Oncology. The prize offers financial assistance to attend the RANZCR 69th Annual Scientific Meeting to the level of $1500.

Criteria:

New Zealand resident RANZCR Fellows, Educational Affiliates and Registrars are eligible to enter.

 

 

William A Cook Award - Best Radiology Registrar Presentation

OBEX Medical has been supporting education for Radiologists for over 25 years and continues to be strongly committed to the ongoing education of both Radiology Registrars and Radiologists. The Registrar prize has been established for 15 years and is awarded to the best Radiology Registrar Presentation. Please note the following conditions: 

- Registrars will present on Thursday of the Annual Scientific Meeting with the winning New Zealand Paper to be presented as part of the RANZCR “Branch of Origin” Session on Friday.
- The winner of the William A Cook Award will be awarded $2,500.
- The winner of the William A Cook Award - Best Radiology Registrar Presentation 2019 must be available to attend and present at this session.
- Only New Zealand resident Radiology Registrars who are employed in an accredited Radiology department/practice in New Zealand at the time of the Branch abstract submission and presentation are eligible to enter.
- A minimum of 5 presentations must be judged to determine an overall winner.

 

RADIATION ONCOLOGY ABSTRACT PRIZES

Varian Prize

Criteria:
Radiation Oncology College Trainee Member

Award/Prize:

Since 1984, the firm of Varian has kindly donated an annual monetary prize and a plaque to be awarded for the best scientific paper prepared and presented by a Student Member in the Radiation Oncology section of the Scientific Program of the ASM. Varian has kindly donated a cash prize of $2000.  The prize will be judged on the following criteria; originality, hypothesis generation, methodology, amount of work undertaken, analysis of results, presentation, clinical importance and response to questions. The abstract should include an indication of the background/hypothesis, methods/patients involved and results and conclusions.

Judging Process:

Two international guest speakers determined by the College evaluate the Varian Prize for Radiation Oncology trainee member.

Chris Atkinson Award – Best Radiation Oncology Scientific Paper Presentation

Criteria:
Radiation Oncology College Member (excluding trainee members).

Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR for membership status confirmation closer to the event.

Award/Prize:

The Chris Atkinson Award is a cash prize of $1000. The prize will be judged on originality, scientific merit and the quality of presentation.

Judging Process:

Two RANZCR representative determined by the Radiation Oncology Research Committee evaluate a winner for the "Best Radiation Oncology Scientific Paper Presentation by a College Member (excluding trainee members)".

 

Elekta Award – the advances in the use of technology in Radiation Therapy

Radiation Oncology College Member.

Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR for membership status confirmation closer to the event.

Award/Prize: 

Elekta Pty Ltd Australia has kindly agreed to provide the recipient with $2000 towards registration and travel expenses to attend either ASTRO or ESTRO in 2019. In addition Elekta Pty Ltd Australia will also present the recipient with an Award Trophy.

Judging Process:

Two RANZCR representatives determined by the Radiation Oncology Research Committee evaluate a winner for the "Best Scientific Paper that shows advances in the use of technology in Radiation Therapy".

 

David Wigg Prize for Radiobiology Research

Radiation Oncology Oral Presentation Prize

Criteria: 

Eligible candidates must be a RANZCR Radiation Oncologist Fellow (within 5 years) or a Trainees Student member at time of the College Annual Scientific Meeting.

Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR for membership status confirmation closer to the event.

Award/Prize:

The David Wigg family have kindly donated a valuable prize of $3000 to support research and study in radiobiology.

The prize is awarded to the best oral presentation on a topic closely linked to radiobiology by a Radiation Oncologist Fellow (within 5 years) or a student member and presented at the College Annual Scientific Meeting.

Judging Process:

Two RANZCR representatives determined by the Radiation Oncology Research Committee evaluate the A/Prof David Wigg Prize for Radiobiology Research.

 

Faculty of Radiation Oncology Training Network New Zealand Prize

Radiation Oncology Oral Presentation Prize

The New Zealand Radiation Oncology Training Network (FRONNZ) is pleased to offer the FRONNZ prize for the best Radiation Oncology Registrar presentation at the RANZCR New Zealand Branch Annual Scientific Meeting.

  1. The award will be presented annually at the NZ Branch ASM.
  2. Only New Zealand resident Radiation Oncology Registrars who are employed in an accredited, Radiation Oncology department, in New Zealand are eligible.
  3. A minimum of 5 presentations must be judged to determine an overall winner.
  4. Judging will be undertaken by a panel, ideally comprising of an international speaker and at least one New Zealand based Radiation Oncologist. The panel is approved annually by FRONNZ.
  5. The judges will be provided with a set of criteria to mark against in order to maximise transparency and equity.
  6. The amount of $500 will be awarded to the trainee judged to have the best presentation.
  • All prize recipients are to be in attendance at the awarding of the prizes.
